Start with Lorem ipsum

Word Count and Character Count
Under the output box you see how many words and characters were generated. This is helpful when your design has a limit, for example a card that fits 40 words, a meta description of around 150 characters or a headline of a few words.
- Words: Counted by splitting the text at spaces.
- Characters: The number of characters in the text that you see in the box, including spaces and punctuation.
- Copy as HTML: The tags that are added when you copy are not part of the count of the visible text.
Where Does Lorem Ipsum Come From?
The text is commonly traced to a passage in De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum, a work in Latin by the Roman writer Cicero from 45 BC. Text written for the page shows how long headlines really are, how readers move through the page and whether the layout supports the message.
